I imagine the director is yelling cut but he is being ignored. This is possibly a prelim for a silent era ad or magazine cover. I am on the hunt to find it in print, unitl then it's just a nice piece.

Thanks! Someone suggested due to the cliche director outfit that perhaps this was an illustration for a published fiction story about the film industry. Time to dig through old magazines!
