Drinking Cat by Rien Poortvliet

Another lovely little illustration by a top notch Dutch artist...in this case Rien Poortvliet, whom some of you may know from his world famous illustrations of gnomes, but he has lent his gorgeous illustrations to many books, and this small piece (in a circular frame, so difficult to properly capture) manages to display a bit of his masterful technique. I am floored by the texture he achieves in the cat's fur, and how much movement he expresses in the couple of lines making up the ripple in the milk. Signed by the artist. Pen & ink on paper at 18 cm x 18 cm. I am unsure if this is published at this time, so I'll list it as unpublished.
