Fantastic C&D page,with all the group shots/scenes! Leonardi and Austin combo is excellent. I really like that angle for the close up in panel 2

What does it take for someone to become the definitive artist for a particular character?  Some sort of monstrously epic run would probably go a long way in establishing that.  Take John Buscema and Conan.  Has any other artist drawn Conan as many times as John?  Has anyone even come close?  Well over a hundred regular issues, a handful of Annuals, a few Giant-size and Movie Special books, a couple of Treasury Editions, two ongoing B&W magazines, and assorted pinups, posters, prints, portfolios, and calendar illustrations.  I'll go out on a limb and say that if you add up ALL the other artists who have ever drawn Conan, it STILL wouldn't add up to how many times Buscema has drawn him.

Which brings up to Rick Leonardi.  I don't know about you, but I just can't imagine anyone else drawing Cloak & Dagger.  Yes, I know other people have.  But they just never feel right.  Rick really defined the look and feel of these characters.  And he managed to do that after only a 4-issue miniseries, 11 issues of the subsequent monthly book, and a dozen plates from a killer portfolio.

I think this page comes from the final issue of the 1988 series (of which he only drew the last two issues) which was then retitled into a new series in 1990 but continued the issue numbering.  Rick only drew 5 of the comibined 19 issues, but that was more than enough to make us miss his art on these characters.
