Original Art Page for Captain America #344, published by Marvel Comics in 1988. This is Pg. 34 from the issue, and is a fantastic example, and one of the best pages from the book. It is also one of the most unique, special, and poignant Original Art Pages you're ever going to find, as it features Cap in The White House, reflecting on its importance as a "far greater symbol of this nation" than he is. Every panel is large, amazing, and iconic. The first panel shows Cap approaching the front door of The White House. The second large splashy panel shows Cap horrified to discover the bodies of Secret Service men bleeding all over the floor. The third panel shows the Star Spangled Sentinel of Liberty and the Seal Of The President Of the United States, as he looks for The Viper, who (spoiler alert) has turned President Ronald Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan into reptiles after drinking water with the mutagenic enzyme. The final panel features Cap and the Presidential bust, as he reflects on the importance of The White House, while also acknowledging "not every man who's ever lived here has been an honorable man." If you are a Cap fan or collector, it doesn't get any better than this. The top edge has been clipped during production (common for art from this time period), and there are tape pieces in the margins, but not on the actual artwork. The page is signed at the bottom right corner. This is a great piece of Cap artwork from a classic issue by the late great Mark Gruenwald, along with legendary artists Kieron Dwyer and Al Milgrom.
