Wrightson was on fire in the the 70's and nobody except Alcala matched him with this ink style..Beautiful! Thanks for sharing this gem.

Loved Bernie Wrightson's beautiful details. I loved his Swamp Thing as a boy, his favorite piece to me. Was his beautiful cover to Dead of the Night#11 which was drawn by Gil Kane & he inked it. starring Marvel's supernature superhero the Scarecrow. My favorite two monster artists were as a boy & still are Bernie wrightson & Mike Ploog. Thanks for sharing these beautiful pieces of art with us.

I have just read IDW's Artist Edition Portfolio. I have noticed that the original title was "Creation". It was lettered as that under the "Muck Monster" title paste-up? Just curious...

Not sure Jaume as the paste up is pretty firmly attached. I assume that the Creation title was probably just the working title. If I get the chance, I'll try and use a light box to see if there is anything under the paste up.

Wow! Wow! To my mind, Bernie's best ever work for comics - absolute genius and very beautiful. I am so jealous! Nice to see IDW has released the folio edition so us fans can enjoy the story in as close to the original form as possible. This is an UberGrail!

Love how he played with the scientist's shirt to add an extra length to the arms for dramatic effect. Stunning.
