Description
A grail piece for me. A Ronin Page! Being that only the art from the first issue ever made it out of Franks hands, to own one of those 48 pages is still amazing to me. This book changed my perception of comics and art- Definitely one of Franks best works. I had to trade 2 choice pieces I had for it but it was well worth it! Check out the Moebius meets Lone Wolf and Cub style! The art speaks for itself - FM baby FM!

Matt - I'm so stoked for you!! Ronin is a personal favorite of mine, and the scarcity of this stuff makes each page so meaningful. You are a lucky dog!!

thanks- cool-yeah i was impressed the gallery edition had almost all of them. My favorites are in Scott Williams gallery though. I have only seen one other in person at a NYC big apple con around 2001. Albert Moy had a promo piece - it was used as the cover for amazing heroes 25. would have totally bought it but was way WAY out of my price range, even today.

Outstanding! So much under the influence and so much his own! Ronin was a phase in Frank's artistic journey he never got to explore further. oo bad, but what a thrill, still!

Yeah I still don't believe it! they are so rare. I traded some james jean sketches and a Simonson thor pin up for it. No regrets.

Just seeing this today for the first time. CAF is a real cave of wonders. Congrats on the find. As rare as it's beautiful. Really appreciate the delicate work Miller was doing at the time.

I still have my Ronin copy that I bought the month it came out. This is a scintillating page rare and uniquely Miller.

Wow! Wow! Wow! Gorgeous page from Ronin #1--Frank Miller's breakthrough miniseries! Love this page featuring Billy Challas manipulating cybernetic arms to perform tasks he couldn't perform on his own. What a great scene from that first book. Congrats on an amazing pick-up!!!

Thanks! Still amazed even 20 years later i own this, Granted I traded for most of the value of this page, but knowing what i know now I would have gone back and bought as many FM and Mazz born again pages I could.  Could never have imagined it would be worth 20X what i paid for it.

You are most welcome!  And I understand completely.  So many "could have" moments...!  Having bought for love and not investment, I'm still blown away by what things cost now compared to then.  Keep picking my jaw up off the ground!

Killer FM Ronin page from issue 1 - huge congrats on this! Saw it in the CAF newsletter today under "Prominent New Artwork" which I assume was a mistake since you posted this back in 2007 ha but glad it surfaced so I could check it out more.

I was wondering why I was getting so many new comments on this piece. Yeah have hard it for a long time, even gave a scan of it for the artist edition. It's definitely a corner stone of my collection. Ronin was probably the comic that most inspired me to pursue art as a career.
