DescriptionSUPERMAN COLORED PENCIL DRAWING. SIGNED BY JERRY SIEGEL AND JOE SHUSTER, DEDICATED TO ALBERT ZUGSMITH.This is a historic piece of art. In 1946, after 8 years of grumbling about giving up their creator's rights to Superman, Siegel and Shuster decided to sue DC COMICS. For the now legendary suit, they hired New York attorney, ALBERT ZUGSMITH. The case was settled in the New York State Supreme Court in 1948. In appreciation for his efforts (note the dedication), Shuster & Siegel created this piece and presented it to Zugsmith, who kept it on his office wall for decades. In the 1950's, Zugsmith went on to become a succesful & well known Hollywood movie producer, specializing in low-budget "girly" movies and "teen-age hot rod" films. Sorry for the glare from the frame. Social/Sharing |
