Description

Had wanted a nice TIm Sale page for a while, and when Mitch Itkowitz was at NYC in February, I spent quite a while looking thru the stash. Was down to this and a Catwoman page, and chose this for a better example of drawing ability. When I had Tim sign this in Seattle in April 2007, he told me this was some of his earliest ink wash work. I had never even had the book before, even though I'm a Matt Wagner fan as well. Picked up the trade at the show, had Sale, Paul Chadwick, and David Mack sign it before I left, read some on the plane home! This page is now signed by Matt Wagner as well, at Phoenix in January 2008.

You know Ken I have to agree with you about Tim Sale, I'm not much of a Batman and Superman fan myself, but I think Tim and Joseph produced some really inspiring and intelligent work with these two modern American mythological icons. I own one piece by Tim and I am always impressed with the flowing grace of his penmanship.
