DescriptionThis piece was done by artist FRANK CHO along with painter JOHN PAINZ.Details and a full uncropped scan can be found on John Painz's CAF Gallery at http://www.comicartfans.com/GalleryPiece.asp?Page=1&Order=Date&Piece=269967&GSub=10151&GCat=0&UCat=0 This piece is one of about a dozen that were inked or painted from FRANK CHO's original pencils for the SUPER CON convention in San Jose California June 2-3 2007 which were then offered and sold off in a fund raising live auction on Sunday 06/03/07 at the event. Pieces were selling for as low as $35 and upward to nearly $1,000 for these JUNGLE GIRL (Shanna?) pieces by FRANK CHO and one of his paired artist partners (which included, Ray Lago, Mark Texiera, John Painz, Mike Bair, Buzz, Ernie Chan, Tony DeZuniga, Bill Morrison, Alex Nino, Tim Vigil, Steve Leialoha, and others I believe). Most of the pieces were inked with unique style, so were not simply "traced" over Frank Cho's pencils. As you can see with this masterpiece, the interpretation here by John Painz is awesome and one of the more unique pieces in the collection. This piece was signed and dated by John Painz on 05/27/07 and Frank Cho signed this piece on Sunday, 06/03/07 at the Super-Con event after the auction. Social/Sharing |
