JSA /New Teen Titans #02 - Power Girl, Changeling, Huntress

The Justice Society of America was Earth-2’s first superteam, forged in the heat of World War II, and featuring their most high profile heroes. They set the heroic standard for all those who followed them.



By contrast, the New Teen Titans were Earth-1’s most up and coming superteam. Sidekicks, former sidekicks and new heroes came together to create a new generation of heroism.



Though the two teams never did meet in the DCU, this series of commissions showcases the heroes and heroines of both in style!



Power Girl – Kara Zor-L, the Supergirl of Earth-2. Her pre-Crisis life was simple; she was Superman’s cousin, who arrived on Earth and was taken in by the married Lois and Clark Kent and became Kal-L’s natural successor in the role.



Then came Crisis, Earth-2 ceased to be, and it all got terribly confusing, years of futzing with her origin did little except show how tricky these things were. Was she really Arion’s granddaughter? As it turns out, no…

Eventually in the most recent Crisis she found out she was still, and always had been, from Earth-2, and she was reunited with Clark and Lois for a short time before they both died in the most recent Infinite Crisis.





Kara now knows who she is, but she kept the heroic faith throughout anyway. This image of her has her legendary bust size shown at a far more plausible level, and she looks MUCH better for it.



Changeling –Gar Logan, the emerald green shapeshifter formerly (and somewhat bizarrely, subsequently) known as Beast Boy. Able to assume any animal form with a thought, and mostly unable to take anything seriously, least of all himself, he uses humour (and an incredible, even by teenage male standards, libido) to distract everyone from the fact that he is essentially a lonely young man, worried of losing anyone who cares for him, as he has lost all those who cared for him in his past, starting with his parents.

He found family first with the Doom Patrol, and then with his peers in the New Teen Titans, he even found what he thought was love, but turned out to be betrayal in the person of Terra.



Here however he is in his favourite position, posed between two stunningly beautiful women. The fact that one could drop kick him into the sun and the other land a crossbow dart in any body part he cares to morph, wouldn't stop him for a moment.



The Huntress – On Earth-2, Batman and Catwoman finally admitted their feelings for each other after years of playful teasing. She reformed her criminal ways and the two were finally, and happily, married for many years.

Together they had a daughter, Helena Wayne, who combined the best aspects of both parents, and also aided by her adoptive big brother Dick Grayson, became the crimefighting heroine known as the Huntress, both solo and as a member of the JSA.

Helena's unerring aim with a crossbow made it her signature weapon, but she could still throw a mean batarang (or equivalent) when the need arose.
