Hah. That Rogers Batman piece was, I think, used for a promo poster and I intended to get a re-creation of it. Too late..

Marshall was soooo good. A tremendous loss. As for "I never see it," as someone who has a stunning Frazetta and a historic Adams cover amongst other unattainables in your collection, I would think, Mr. Williiams, that your complaints should be few and far between. The cover to the Batman portfolio was oversized and sold on eBay about 18 months ago, or so, for about $5K. The other pieces are tucked away somewhere far away from public view. These advertisements are a great reminder of where this hobby was and may indicate where it might be headed. Thanks so much for sharing!

Cool ads Scott! Interesting to see the 1978 prices on the Daughters of the Dragon pages. My first ever comic art purchase was the splash page intro to that story which I bought in 1988 from a Sydney comic shop for $150! It's currently displayed in my CAF gallery and I treasure it highly.

ouch, ouch, ouch, if only, when I was 3, I could have started collecting art!

Yep...Bought that Rogers Batman portoflio cover from Len Fausto back in mid-late 80s and had it framed and hanging in my youthful days...probably paid too much and certainly sold it to soon (pre-eBay auction in California)..ah well

I LOVE that image of Batman by Marshall Rogers!!! It's my single favorite image of the character. I had a promo poster of it when DC was giving them out in comic stores during the 80's to promote their compilations. Years later I found it packed away. A couple of years ago when Marshall made the rounds promoting Dark Detective with Terry Austin and Steve Englehart I took the poster with me and had all three of them sign it. It's now framed in my office. Thanks for sharing.
