Shield and Dusty by Martin Paul

My first page of Golden Age art! I am not sure it has ever been published. It is described as a tryout page for an MLJ story featuring the Shield and Dusty. I am trying to find out who drew it, the credit is to a Martin Paul but I feel that is just a nom de’ plume.
I touched base with comic historian and great inker in his own right, Jim Amash but he had no idea who Mr. Paul is. So if you have an eye for Golden Age art and can identify whose work this is feel free to let me know. For that matter if you know if this page was ever published drop me a line.
