Scream Queen Gets What's Coming

There's a story behind this one. At Wizard World Chicago, across the aisle and one booth over from the Ape Entertainment booth was Boom Studios. They had a scream queen, Black Betty, at their booth, promoting Horrorfest for Boom. Anyway, every hour or so, she would scream at the top of her lungs, and scare the bejeezus out of everyone at our booth. Chris Provencher and I are sitting next to each other, and I tell him, "you should draw someone whacking her upside the head." 20 minutes later, this is what he produced. That's Skipper Martin on providing the beating. To make the story even funnier, Bizarre New World inker Wes Dzoiba, when no one is looking, takes this piece to Black Betty and has her autograph it--to me of all people. She was a good sport about it. Enjoy!
