Description

A very sweet drawing of a bobby-soxer, by one of the best! Clark's brush work is just wonderful in this WWII era piece from 10/18/44. The girl on the phone is saying to a friend, "I'm fed up taking care of kids! I can't wait till this war's over and I can get married!" Oh, be careful what you wish... You can see where Clark replaced the drawing of the girl with a large paste-over. I've tried to see the drawing underneath, but the Strathmore is too thick.
