Description

People have been asking for a better scan of this piece since I got it. Unfortunately, it was framed, and I couldn't get to it, but today, the frame fell and shattered---so here without fan or fanfare(Dave doesn't need either since the art speaks for itself), the incomparable Dave Cockrum's Batman

This is simply amazing. Thanks for the better scan, sorry about the frame though. Now you'll just have to go get a better one for it.

I always enjoyed Dave's Batman work & wish he did more. I thought he might have a run on the character in the mid-80s, but the book went in a different direction. Thanks for sharing!

Another beautiful piece, Ari. The cowl shape and design are reminiscent of his early noirish days. The enshroudment of the gargoyle by Batman's cape is a visually intriguing artistic touch. Truly impressive.

this is great....i always thought dave cockrum was tremendously underrated....i believe he actually drew a few issues of batman in the late 80's.....by the way,dave was the first "PRO" i ever met...i was painting a mural for a candy store (in queens,ny) in 1974,and he stopped by to talk with me,with his son...he was drawing the legion at that time....great guy.
