Jim Silke: Diane Webber pencil prelim

      Jim Silke is the writer/artist of the graphic novels Rascals in Paradise and Bettie Page: Queen of the Nile. He wrote and illustrated the art books Bettie Page: Queen of Hearts, Bettie Page Rules, Pin-Up: The Illegitimate Art, and Jim Silke's Jungle Girls. Steve Morger's Big Wow Art published the Jim Silke Sketchbook in 2003. The artist has a long career including record albums, movie magazines, screenwriting, and art instruction. I first met Jim at WonderCon in 1996 and see and talk to him frequently at WonderCon, San Diego Comic-Con, and Big Wow ComicFest. He was on a pin-up panel at WonderCon with Dave Stevens, Frank Cho, Terry Dodson, Russ Heath, and Michael Bair. My notes on this event are in my CAF Dave Stevens Rocketeer page.

      This Diane Webber drawing is a prelim for a chapter heading for Jim's Bettie Page: Queen of Hearts. One of a pair which were my first purchases from Jim at WonderCon on a Friday in 1996.
