A really striking, dramatic image! Looking at a scan of the original, it appears that Bob Wiacek was responsible for a lot of the detail on this one. By the way, this was also used for the cover of the Dark Horse trade paperback Star Wars: A Long Time Ago volume 3: Resurrection of Evil.
