Well, the 40 days have come and gone, but I think for our family the mourning will always continue in some sense. I just really do want to thank each and every single one of you who either posted their condolences on the memorial or emailed me privately. My entire family was SO moved by this outpouring of sympathy, and for myself, I have never been more proud to belong to a community full of such caring and compassionate people.
Special thanks have to go out to my three “brothers” who really held me up through all this. To Jonathan Mueller for being there from day one to the very last day. Through all the good news and bad news, through all the breakthroughs and setbacks, through all the hope and heartbreak, Jonathan was right there with his emotional support and friendship. To Ken Rogers for basically doing the same thing, but doing it the hard way – from 3000 miles away! And to Joe Le for practically living at the airport for two and a half days trying to catch a standby flight (on the final weekend of Spring Break) just to come to the funeral. You guys are the best, and I love you all.
Anyhow, the gallery is back online pretty much just as you all remembered it. There has, however, been one very significant alteration. The gallery room formerly known as the CAF Kindness and Generosity gallery has been renamed the EDGARDO DELOS SANTOS Memorial Gallery. At my father’s services, so many people stood up and spoke of his kindness and generosity, so I thought it only fitting that these types of acts from my friends in the collecting community be acknowledged in a gallery bearing his name.
Again, my most profound and heartfelt thanks to all of you for you kind expressions of sympathy. It’s nice to be back and I look forward to communicating with each of you soon. Take care and God bless!
