Al Hartley MRS. LYONS' CUBS (Sunday) 11-9-58

On February 10, 1958, Stan Lee and Joe Maneely's MRS. LYONS' CUBS comic strip feature debuted, distributed by the Chicgo Sun-Times Syndicate. The Sunday strips began the following week on February 16, 1958. When Joe Maneely tragically died in June, Stan got his long-time PATSY WALKER teen-humor artist Al Hartley to take over the strip's artistic chores and the feature continued a few more months before ending just short of one full year. Never a successful strip, the feature nevertheless lost it's charm after Maneely's death and held on as long as it could. This is a nice example of one of Al Hartley's Sunday strips.
