Description

A wonderful Guttersnipes illustration by the great Phil May. This one, titled "Playing at Soldiers", was the frontispiece for the book. This piece came from Sy Schechter's collection and was his favorite Phil May cartoon. I'm honored to have it in my collection. 1896.

This is a fun piece to look at as it just brings back memories of being a kid with no real worries and letting your Imagination rule the day! Thanks for sharing these old masters drawings in your gallery Rob!
