Captain Capitalism marker commission by Phil Noto (SDCC 2004)

There was one more thing to ask of Phil at SDCC 2004, and my friend Matt and I were there to request it. Matt got on Phil's commission list for this one as it was a piece we were both requesting to pick up as a gift for a friend back home. The character is Captain Capitalism (www.captaincapitalism.com) created by our friend Brad Graeber who is, along with Matt and I, a huge fan of Phil's work. We were hoping that Phil would be ok with drawing someone else's creation in his own style, and when we handed him some reference art and explained what we wanted, he said he was ok with taking it on. I think he did a fantastic job, and I'm pretty sure Brad loves it, as it's still hanging over his computer in his home office. So this one isn't officially mine, but I'm keeping it in my CAF gallery because we had it done as a surprise for Brad and I love the way it turned out!
