I saw Stephanie working on this Dark Phoenix at SDCC'11 and loved it! It's the reason I asked her for my Rachel / Phoenix II commission which I think also turned out great! Congrats on an awesome pickup!
I had a very similar experience at the '02 Dallas Con! (similar sketch in my gallery.) Dave was super nice and will be missed. The inked sketch looks fantastic!

I brought my copy of "The Vault of Michael Allred" and asked him to sign it...that's what he handed back :) I was quite happy! We chatted for a bit, took pics...I had a great time!
