Description

I have long been a fan of Jim Mooney's work. He is one of the first artists that I met and I loved his work on the Dial H series in House of Mystery. This is a blue pencil prelim of a Dial H for Hero drawing by Jim Mooney. It features Robby Reed with the H dial, and several of the heroes he became during the original series run in House of Mystery, including King Coil, Super-Charge, Human Starfish, the Mole, Radar-Sonar Man, and Human Bullet. This was done for "Silver Age Secret Files & Origins" #1 published by DC Comics in July 2000. Mooney's note says the text could be on the left, which is how it was published. (See published version in Additional Images.) In some respects, I like the prelim better than the published version, but I'm glad to have them both.
