Description
I've always been a fan of the classic Jose Luis Garcia-Lopez cover to Batman 321, which is one of those covers that just leapt of the shelf at you as you walked past.

So, you may view this as a blasphemy, but with deep and sincere apologies to the magnificent Jose-Luis Garcia-Lopez, when I won a recent e-bay cover recreation commission from Greg Kirkpatrick, I asked if he would modify it a little... well, a lot actually.

First off, what theme and what villain could I use? Well, it couldn't be the Joker, it had to be someone else. And it had to be a villain with a REAL mad on for Robins, and an iconic look (for better or worse).

Well, the most Robin-obsessive villain to me is Crazy Quilt... and after that the rest was easy. The Joker could have a birthday cake, but a villain who could only see bright dazzling colours, with an obsession over the brightly coloured sidekick and a penchant for light and lasers as a weapon.... where ELSE could it be but a disco... but not only a disco.. a DISCO OF DOOM!

So as the talent was his, bouquets to Mr Kirkpatrick if you like it, but as the concept was mine, brickbats at me if you don't!

Fun times, and you can't really go wrong when you center Mr. Grayson in a cover :)
