Description
Sometimes I'm nostalgic when I collect, but most of the time try to acquire pieces for their artistic merit. This cover by Carmine Infantino is a masterpiece. Classic Infantino design. Perfect balance even with his classic tilted horizon line. It doesn't get better than Superman walking off into the sunset. Pure Americana like the old western movies. I acquired this piece at the NY Comic Con on Feb. 8th. My dad was there doing an interview for a future documentary on comic creators. My parents and my son James were with me when I picked this piece up. I told them that someday when all the dust settles and people realize that comic art is an art form worthy of museums, this will be one of the pieces chosen to hang in a museum. Afterwards, I walked it over to Carmine Infantino who was excited to see his old cover again. He had at some point signed it to someone named Francis which is my namesake.

I should have never parted with it. Glad you got it, so at least it's found a great home.
