Full size 12 X 18 Pencil Recreation of A 1955 Original Unpublished Jack Kirby Foxhole Cover By Angel Gabriele. This actual cover was originally pencilled and inked by Jack "King" Kirby, on large size (12 X 18 inch art area ) illustration board for Simon & Kirby's own Mainline Publications, and was rejected by the newly formed Comics Code Authority as too violent. This original was created on a light table, from a photostat of the original art, using the actual original drawing for details.A full size xerox of the inked cover will be included. I was doing this recreation with every intention of inking it and pasting in the logo as on the original( See digital image of inked cover-needless to say, the original Kirby Foxhole cover is NOT included ), but I liked the pencils as they were, and thought others might like it too! If you buy it, I can ink it for you for an additional fee, or just enjoy the penciils. Illustration is suitable for framing! ( photo is shot at slight up angle to avoid glare.) At the request of longtime Kirby family friend David Schwartz, and to avoid questionable sales by less than reputable dealers, all Angel's Jack Kirby recreation work states in archival ink, on the back, that they are a recreation by Angel.
