I FINALLY got around to scanning this pin-up and replacing the crappy blurry digital photo I originally had.

From Eerie Magazine # 110, the Chapter Splash of "Blood on Black Satin" written by Doug Moench. The story and art was spread out over 3 issues beginning with Eerie # 109.

Ever since I started reading MOKF as a kid growing up, Paul was always one of my favorite artists. His photo-realistic style and cinematic storytelling was ground breaking and still influences artists from the generations that followed. Very few people can manipulate ink wash as effectively and dramatically as Gulacy! A true master of the medium!

By this point of his career, Gulacy had evolved from his early MOKF days where he drew heavy inspriation from Jim Steranko's high graphic and experimental artistic stylings to developing his own artistic photo-realistic sensibilities. Truly a lovely acquisition. Congratulations Nelson!

As much as I love Gulacy's MOKF run, I must admit that this Eerie story was just outstanding. Congratulations on a great collection! (great taste! MOKF rules)

Anything by Gulacy is a treat. This more so, due to the medium used. Brilliant.
