Description

This piece embodies most everything I love about comics-Superboy, the Legion, and a great artist (who is also Pinoy) that simply captures magic when he brings ink to paper. For me nothing brings together my two worlds than a piece that is done simply to help someone else out...and this is just that. Francis heard about Karen's Fire (an Original Comic Art Collectors and Artists Mortal Foe) and on a free day just created this piece to help benefit her Fund to rebuild. He doesn't even know her personally which makes the whole gesture even more endearing. I started collecting with an auction...and any endeavor that combines both my love for art and helping someone else...I am there.

This piece got pretty beat up in transit but it somehow made it in one piece...but it didn't diminish in any way because it just fills out almost all the space on the page (and thank rao for heavy books and weights to flatten it out).

I won this piece on Ebay at 0423 on 3/31--30 minutes before I would walk into the new hospital that would be my workplace until I retire. I had been waiting years for this new building, had a lot of hand in creating it, and it was a great moment for me to walk finally into this new place of healing which only makes my job more exciting and more beneficial, i hope, for my patients. It was an emotional day to see us move all the services and patients from one hospital to another in One Day !! So this particular piece of artwork will always remind me of that moment in time and I plan to display it in my office as an inspiration... to New Adventures and the Great Feeling that Comes from Being a Part of a Great Team....
