Byrne's FF was my favorite comic of my formative years. The clean lines and sci-fi adventures mixed with the family aspect made it one of the greatest runs in Modern history. When I was looking for a representative piece, I could never find a page with all the FF in action. That is why this is such a grail piece for me - classic composition of all the FF, each using their powers. I also love the hand-written note from Byrne to the editor in the corner. Framed and on display in my office

John actually drew two versions of the corner box...I believe yours is the published version with his broader inking ala marker but there is another ever-so-slightly different version that wasn't published b/c the thinner inking lines didn't display as well when the image was reduced. Good to see this again!

Thanks, Will - I think you are right as the note at the top refers to this piece as the "new, new" corner box symbol

I still regret not bidding more than you on ebay to win this piece. Sincere congrats ! It's absolutely beautiful and it's probably the most seen Byrne FF art ever. On the cover of all those issues !

Yup, well, if there's a piece that most probably (and fully) encapsulates my youth, it's this one. To call it classic is to damn with faint praise; your wonderful collection is one amazement after another - thanks for sharing this piece with us here!
