Here we have the building blocks of the final product. On 9 x 12" bristol we have the rough blue pencil outline of the main body. When you're doing pencil portrait work like this, it's always good to get a lineart pattern in place so that concerns like placement of shading and proportions are met with minimal difficulty. Now granted there will be changes from this point but it's still rough so it's allowed.
