Description

Every image of Kong you have ever seen from the 1976 remake is form this painting. I won this at an auction right after 9/11. I had to have it because I loved the movie and because I love NY. This painting has a double meaning in my heart and is very special to me.

john burkey is definitely a great illustrator. those buildings in the bkg are incredibly loose yet they read amazingly well.

I remember the Movie and I remember the POSTER! I will never for get 9/11. Thanks for the way you evoked about every emotion I have, in the visual and that comment. It gave me pause...

recently watched the 1976 film again for the first time since i was a child. i had forgotten the twin towers appearance in the film. watching it without that childhood innocence can really send your mind reeling. i plan on looking up the 1933 version this weekend. thanks for posting. the artwork is brilliant.
