Description

This piece was a 2 year work in progress, what initially was the pusuit of a Jim Lee sketch at the DC Booth, being 2nd in line that became a Jim Lee signature without a sketch from SDCC 2008 last year on this 11" x 17" comic board evolved into this tribute to HUSH. I've followed and waited for Jim Lee on four different occasions hoping to get a sketch, but due to his popularity and time limitations he wasn't able to draw anything for me at those times I was able to meet him, and other times I waited, I wasn't able to meet him... so, this piece ended up becoming a nice HUSH TRIBUTE piece. Instead of artwork, I figured to collect WORDS and DIALOGUE, so had each of the creative forces behind HUSH autograph this and write their own captions. JIM LEE wrote "WOW! Awesome -" (at Wonder Con 2008). Then at SDCC 2009 I had Scott Williams conjure up "Hey Kids! Comics!", a nostalgic tribute to those old point of purchase newsstand comic book rack spinners. Later at 2009 SDCC, I met JEPH LOEB who happened to be visiting Marc Silvestri the Top Cow booth (what a pleasant surprise and very fortunate meeting!)who wrote "Catwoman! Get down from there!" and ended this piece with Alex Sinclair writing "Did you see Robin pickin his nose ?!?" - - so, now this piece is complete from the creative team of Batman "HUSH"... and it was fun meeting 'em all and getting this done for me.

lol Your story sounds exactly like mine. Now I don't feel so bad for not getting a sketch from Jim. Guess I'm not the only one.
