When the thought was to do DC Comics superheros in animation, Alex Toth did this initial character design of Wonder Woman, keeping the look that started in the '40s with H.G. Peter and evolved into the curly-haired vixon depicted by Andru & Esposito, Irwin Hasen and Irv Novick in the '50s and '60s. The idea was scrapped with the more "That Girl" look that was popularized in the animated "Superfriends" television series.
