Description

It's an musical smackdown, feline style! Josie and the Pussycats find themselves upstaged by a knockoff band calling themselves "9 Lives." On the left, that's Josie McCoy on guitar, Valerie Brown thumping bass, and Melody Valentine behind the drum kit. On the right, it's Selina (Catwoman) Kyle belting out lead vocals, Linda Turner -- the Golden Age Black Cat -- on bass, and Felicia Hardy -- the modern-age Black Cat -- slamming the skins.

Gene Gonzales surpassed all expectations in the creation of this gargantuan (it's 22" x 17") masterpiece.

This is Common Elements #87.

Darn You Michael Rankins -- one of the greatest themes on all of CAF and one masterpiece of Common Elements after another and then WHAM-O a huge piece like this...this is stunning and boy oh boy do you make it hard on the rest of us poor theme guys. I like this a great, great deal. Congrats

I gotta go with Josie and the Pussycats on this Catfight! I always liked them and Gene did a great job on this whole piece! It's always fun seeing what you come up with next!

Gene is a fine and underrated artist as well as one of the nicest guys around - and this may be the best piece of art I have seen from him! congrats!!
