The shot taken after
Amanda Conner completed my Superman Blue piece. In the bottom right hand corner, you can see the reference I lent her, Superman Secret Files and Origins #1.
Amanda mentioned that she liked doing the piece because she rarely gets to work with a color palate this simple. Come to think of it, that's one of the reason's that Superman Blue ended up as my theme/character. Just from this weekend alone, I've seen there is so much that can be done visually with the character from a wide range of artists.
After it was done, she noticed the
Laurie B! sketch and saw this was a recurring theme. I said I ended up with it because it's Superman, but it's also unique.
Also, I got these in a group because it was the first time I could really get afford to get sketches like this at a con. Which lead to me telling her that I liked the character so much not only did I get a bunch of Superman Blue sketches, I owned the
two page spread at the beginning of the issue. She said it must have been expensive. And I said, it was pretty reasonable. Those pages got discounted and I picked them up for a pretty reasonable price. Very happy with the whole experience of buying the piece from Amanda and made a great end to the show.
