DescriptionThis painting was originally commissioned in the UK for Thoroughbred & Classic Cars magazine for the Men and Machines feature of the XXX 1976 issue. This original, which has been in the artist’s possession since publication. The condition is excellent. Given its interesting provenance and visual impact, this work, now over 30 years old, should appeal to Brabham collectors – who will know that Australian Jack Brabham was Formula 1 World Champion in 1959 (Cooper-Climax), 1960 (Cooper-Climax) and, at the age of 40, 1966 (Repco-Brabham). In the Jaguar context, Brabham competed only once, in the Riverside Grand Prix of October 1960 with the Le Mans prototype E2A. The car was unsuited to the task and Brabham finished tenth.Gouache and Inks on rigid smooth CS10 artboard Image Size : 320 x 235 mm with generous white board surround Board size 410 x 315 mm Signed by the artist Social/Sharing |
