Williamson, Al: Flash, Dale, Zarkov convention sketch

Sometime during the early 1980's, Al Williamson was one of the featured guest artists at the Atlanta Con. I took my old FG 1 which I'd bought as a 9th grader in 1966 (it was worn out from looking through it so much!) for him to sign the cover, and I asked him also to sketch Flash Gordon for me. As he was finishing up the drawing of Flash, I worked up enough courage to ask him to throw Dale and Zarkov into the scene! He smiled and granted my wish - what a great guy! Not to mention being one of the top artists of all time.
