Description
The page 1 splash to Donor Story by Tara McPherson.

A great McPherson piece, so many of her touches. The hair, the eyes, the swirls of wind. Love it.

After all the success that McPherson garnered as a cover artist at Vertigo, she accepted a gig doing sequential work for Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall. Tara enjoyed that gig and decided to look into more comics work.

Shelley Bond hooked Tara up with writer Steven Seagle on an original Vertigo graphic novel to be titled 'Donor Story'.

At this time the fine art world were glomming onto Tara and she was becoming the next big low brow superstar.

Her gallery work began overwhelming the comics career. Tara wasn't feeling the project. At NYCC 2007 she told me that she wasn't going to continue on, that she had only complete 8 of 100+ pages (the story continued to grow in scope as Vertigo pushed for more and her market appeal grew) and that she couldn't go on.

This piece was purchased off of ebay in 2009 from Mitch at Graphic Collectibles. 10" x 13" acrylics on illustration board.

So you did pull the trigger. Saw it with 2 minutes and no bids. I thought about it, but we already talked about why I stayed away. At least now that you have it, I can look at it some time.
