The Brothers Hildebrandt - Urshurak preliminary

One of my favorite books as a kid was The Brothers Hildebrandt (Greg and Tim) and Jerry Nichols' epic fantasy novel, Urshurak. I loved the story and writing, but what really made the world of the book real for me was the incredible artwork. It's a shame that some of the Brothers awesome paintings are reproduced so small. Maybe one day there will be a deluxe oversized edition! The books illustrations consisted of glorious full-color paintings, as well as numerous full page and spot illustrations. One of the spot illustrations (at the bottom of page 29) depicts The Vilderone, the gargoyle faced executioner army of the Death Lord, on their way to the castle of the Wizard Elgan. This is the preliminary for that drawing and holds a special place for me in my collection. Pencil on tracing paper. 11.5" X 15" Signed by both Greg and Tim.
