Description
When DC rebooted their universe after Crisis on Infinite Earths, the new history held that Superman (and others) debuted in the modern era. Continuity wonks wondered how to reconcile the character's Golden Age adventures. Roy Thomas posited that those adventures may have still taken place, but with other characters taking the place of Superman and friends.

This issue of All-Star Squadron retells a classic Superman adventure from 1942, recasting the Squadron in the heroic role. Here, Funnyface (a villain who animates characters from comic strips) demonstrates his technology to a captive Firebrand, with pencils by the legendary Wayne Boring.
