So, when I was a kid, I could still grab the odd issue of Magnus and even an old issue or two of Solar (well past its original publishing date) off the stands or, more likely, in the pile of comics the local barber kept to pacify us kids while we waited our turn. Conversely, thanks to my move to Japan in the early 1990's, I missed a lot the BWS's Valiant work (and have only seen it in patchwork form), but, based on the characters used, and that top panel in particular, this has got to be one of the better panel pages I've seen.

Very cool combo of two great artists - Layton's inks are a fine blend with BWS' pencils. Hope you got your copy of his masterpiece Monsters - decades in the making, and well worth the waiting!

Unity was to me the highpoint of Valiant.  Amazing to see original BWS art from those days.  Thank you for sharing.
