DescriptionWay back when I started this theme of commissions there was one team of artist from which I wanted to get a piece created, John Romita Sr. and John Romita Jr. I knew it was a long shot and that it would take a while and that it would not be easy to get but there was NO WAY I was letting anyone else touch Green Goblin.Flash Forward 5 years to the present and BOOM here it is. My idea was that Gobby would be none too pleased about being left off the original "Sinister SIx" team and would someday have his revenge for that slight. Doc Ock, Mysterio, Kraven, Vulture, Electro and Sandman bear the brunt in this piece. OF COURSE he's going to take the opportunity to end his conflict with Spidey at the same time. It was John's idea that Gobby would have a picture of Gwen in his lair. lol John Romita Jr. took time from his crazy schedule and all those movie premieres and Hollywood parties to pencil this piece wonderfully. John Romita Sr. inked this piece to perfection. He's a true professional with so much talent he seems to be getting stronger as time goes on. This would not have been possible if not for the indulgence of John Romita Sr. and John Romita Jr. I can't thank them enough for agreeing to take on this idea and create something so special for me. A HUGE thanks goes out to Spencer Beck for setting this piece up and doing all the hard work behind the scenes to get the piece done for me and get it into my hands safe and sound. I would never have gotten close to having this piece done if not for Spencer's kindness and help. Social/Sharing |

As the old saying goes, persistency pays off in the end, and in your case Chris, you have a trophy to end all trophies on your wall. BRAVO !!!!!!

What an unbelievable commission, absolutely stunning. You already have possibly the most impressive list of artists commissioned on CAF but this was a team I would have thought all but impossible. I don't think it can be beaten.

Beauiful piece, and well worth the wait. To have father and son on one piece is rare. The story is icing on the cake.

One of, if not THE best commissions I've seen on CAF. The pairing of two legends on one of the greatest fictional characters of all time. Everything about this piece sings. Someone should make a poster out of this.

HOLY CRAP!!!! This is Fn fantastic. You my friend are my hero on this. I've gotten stuff from both of them and even a Jam together but nothing on this level. The most evil piece of this is the Gwen pic. CONGRATS!!!

I can't believe I never commented on this piece....This is an instant classic and for me a top 10 on the entire website! I wish JRSR could ink Jr. work on everything he did, it maintains his style but it gives it such an amazing nostalgic feel, one of the best JRJR pieces of all time, published or not, this is a triumph! Congrats Chris!

Cool! So glad JRJR drew the characters in their classic costumes and appearance here. Father and son have such different aesthetics that it's always fun to see them work together. JRJR has such a powerful, rough and tumble gritty approach to drawing and John SR is just the epitome of smooth cool. I love that John JR is one of the most prolific (if not the most) artists in comics today and it's such a treat for all all that he takes time out of that schedule to do these great commissions with his legendary father. Did they give you a scan of the pencils? I'm always curious to how much John Sr. altered when he inks his son. Congratulations and a big thank you for commissioning this and sharing it with us. I'm such a fan of the Romita's and seeing this just makes my day!

Wow. I am blown away. Love the look on Goblin's face, the subtly of the heart shaped frame on Gwen. Tremendous piece by the spectacular Romitas.

Have you ever considered getting a trophy wall done with other collectors heads? You know, the ones who have stuff that you would like. Lol.

Well, I was thinking more the other collectors getting a restraining order against me. Might make seeing eachother at a convention problematic if I'm forced to be 150 yards away at all times.
