A master of every medium he worked in, he elevated comics to fine art like no other artist. The man and his powerful work will be sorely missed.

Rob, thank you for the notice and for your tireless efforts in supporting Frazetta. A passing of a favorite of mine and, without doubt, the worlds. The mans influence and footprint in the world of illustration and fine art will be never forgotten.

Artist Jeffrey Jones wrote this to me today: "I first saw Frank's Famous Funnies, Buck Rogers comic covers when I was a kid. They meant so much to me that I never saw Science Fiction any other way. Then I saw his book covers while in college--I was so blown away by them that I decided to become an illustrator. When I learned of his death today, I thought the world would stop...but it goes on."

I am stunned by Frank's passing. My dream was to one day meet this legendary man, and I came close a few years ago visiting the museum. I am sure that he is happy to be reunited with Ellie once again in eternity! God Bless you Frank and thank you for all the inspiration you gave to all of us!

the best fantasy artist of all time. there will never be another like him. i never got to meet him, but i've wanted to for a long time. his art has been a source of inspiration and wonder to me and my own work ever since i first laid eyes on it. at least he is with Ellie now.

I still cannot believe Frank is no longer with us. I have been in shock all day and there is a genuine sadness that I cannot seem to quell. But I realize that Frank lives on through his work and that will endure forever. I've had the good fortune of meeting Frank, Ellie and the rest of the family on several occasions and it was an experience that I'll never forget. Those of you who were lucky enough to see the Frazetta Museum in person know what a magical place that was. As great as seeing his artwork reproduced is, there was absolutely nothing like standing a few inches away from the originals. Thanks Frank for all the past, present and future inspiration. You are without question, the greatest artist ever.

Frank's passion for capturing moments in time clearly stayed with him until the end, and most certainly transcended far beyond his paintings or drawings. This photo is how I will remember him always! Thx for this.

Frank Frazetta was one of those people one thought would never die. And he probably never will, thanks to all the art he left behind...

R.I.P. So many memories about Frank's art. Still have my "Art of Frank Frazetta" books from back in the day along with some prints I found in a Record store in the town where I went to college. I even remember pinning the soundtrack of Clint Eastwood's "The Gauntlet" to my wall. This news makes me very sad, indeed. Never did get a chance to got to museum...

He gave us all so much. Artists who's style doesnt even resemble Frazetta are better for being exposed and enlightened by his work. What a great gift he gave to the art world during his run. Rest in piece to a true modern master.

If your last week on this rock includes sitting on a FL beach, with a camera, photographing a sunset or the water or a shore bird or a pretty girl, that's not a bad way to go, when all is said and done.
