Description

A great page from John Bolton's BLACK DRAGON series. Many moons ago I bought a painted ARMY OF DARKNESS page direct from John, and he invited me to his studio in London to pick it up, it was a wonderful experience and he's a true gentleman.

I was thinking about this book the other day. Unlike say most of the sword and sorcery books of the day, it mixed Prince Valiant like realism with a much darker combination of fantasy and horror. I'm not sure how it would read today, but it was kind of a breath of fresh air at the time it came out and I loved Bolton's art.
