DescriptionFrom the wonderful pen of Gaar Williams comes a terrific Prohibition era cartoon from March 24, 1926. Wotta Life, Wotta Life was one of Williams' many panel features, and in this case, it's the poor caged bird bemoaning his/her life at the moment. I love Williams' work, especially from the late 1910s through the late 1920s. His pen was just flying during that decade, with lush, juicy line work. How he was able to command that slap-dash style is just beyond me. Williams was like an older version of Edward Sorel, in that ability to sling the ink in such a lush way.
