DescriptionSuper Slave Mystic Comics #5 (March 1941) The rather unforgettably named "Super Slave" was in fact a magical being, summoned forth from an ancient golden bracelet. The bracelet was discovered by an old fisherman, Cappy, and his daughter, Jane, when their trawler was capsized in a storm at sea. After saving Jane from drowning, by becoming a giant big enough to part the ocean with his bare hands, this mystical wonder declares himself to be Cappy's slave. Obviously Cappy doesn't say no to this offer, but he doesn't really seem to have idea of what to do with him either.Given Super Slave's magical nature, his powers were pretty much unlimited. In this adventure he changes size from being a hundred foot tall giant to a few inches in height, demonstrates super strength, and appears and disappears at will. The art on Super Slave was capably handled by the prolific Paul Gustavson. Social/Sharing |
