Description20+ years ago, when I had dreams of becoming a comic artist, I came up with a Deathlok pin-up design that was an homage to Mike Zeck & John Beatty's work on Captain America #286-288 which I loved. I never was able to bring the piece to life the way I hoped, so I filed the piece away. Fast forward 20 years and I find the piece again when cleaning out the attic. I had this longing to finally finish it. So, I enlisted the help of Rich Buckler (Deathlok's creator) and John Beatty to make that dream a reality. What a great hobby where dreams can come true!Check out the step-by-step on John Beatty's blog at: http://johnbeattyart.com/?page_id=832&cpage=1#comment-636 A special follow-up on this... well, the folks at Back Issue Magazine liked the piece so much, they decided to feature it as the cover of Back Issue Magazine #49. Look for it to come out in June 2011! Social/Sharing |

Fantastic commission. It's great that you were able to get your idea for a Deathlok illustration penciled by the character's creator, and then inked by John Beatty, bringing together two decades of Deathlok artists.
