DescriptionThis is the only canvas painting I have ever seen by Timm and it is much larger than his normal 8 1/2 by 11 size. The colors are very vibrant and the piece is beautiful. It was used as the cover to a magazine and was also a poster. In person, it has an almost three dimensional quality. This is one of my very favorite pieces. In my opinion, Batman the Animated Series is one of the finest shows ever to grace the television. It had extremely broad appeal and was clearly an exercise of love for those involved. They truly got it. "It" was the fact that Batman could be scary, smart and dark; not silly, or dumbed down. This was the Batman I had always loved. With Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill as the voices of Batman and Joker respectively, it ushered in a new interest in comics and I believe is directly responsible for the success of the comic based movies we see today.Social/Sharing |

Congrats on acquiring such an incredible piece. It truly must be a sight to behold in person! An actually Bruce Timm work of art you can hang on the wall and not worry about it fading!

From the picture, I get a sense of the 3-D effect you mention.

I couldn't agree with you more Jared, the show was incredible! This piece is ridiculously awesome! Have you played the Arkham Asylum Batman game? Conroy and Hamil lend their voices to it and the game is also truly memorable.

I should have commented on this before. It's really well done. Timm on Batman is like PB with some J. Perfection

I think this is the best Bruce Timm piece I've ever seen! Where on earth did this ever come from? It brings up some questions like was this a promotional piece or just a random painting he wanted to try? Truely amazing!
