Meet my grail, part two. Another Mike Mignola page. With badguy Rasputin, portrayed epicly or classicly amid darkness and smoke, staring readers down buff and broodingly, like a metal singer, or either a (way) pissed-off traffic attendant.
Going into detail and lengthily - all pictured out - into the deeper ploy of it all, of how it's gonna have to be with them humans.

Presenting astounding architecture - ancient Asian-like glory next to more oceanicly dotted / pointilled grandeur. As well as rugged Ice Age mountain scenery, plus chillin' hunter-gatherer traveling man. As well as ancient artifacts, sculpture and iconography - with even some in-panel cool bits like the spot 'slab' illo or the protruding Egyptian head. So cool and "trompe-l'oeil" it's like losing an eye...

What came as a total surprise to me, was that the page turns out to be fully hand-lettered! By hand! I'm thinking this being the work of the accredited letterer, in the person of Pat Brosseau?

The page shows some delicate blue line (pencil?) and on the right side the faintest of line or brush checks, both in ink as even in whiteout. All overly cautious I guess, as they all seemed to 've been working perfectly, without fail.

The page looks but neat and stunning, from up close both as from afar. Not too far 'though, or I'd fall outta the window for certain.
