Wow! What a sinister looking Mephisto! Terrifying work by Tim Sale. He really created a mysterious, malevolent Mephisto in this illustration. I like the way Sale positioned Mephisto against a dark, twisting column so that he can be properly lit from behind by the flames of Hell. I'm intrigued by the lizard above his head and the silhouetted raven by his side. Mephisto's white eyes stare right at us from the dark shadowing his face. Fantastic pick-up, congrats!
